A Timeless Wedding in Rome: From the Basilica of St. Alessio to Tenuta Tor de’ Sordi

Alessio & Chiara | Roman Grandeur on the Aventine Hill & Tenuta Tor de’ Sordi

Alessio and Chiara’s wedding was a perfect balance between Rome’s monumental breath and the evocative stillness of its countryside. A journey that began in the silent heart of the Aventine Hill and culminated in a celebration under the starlit sky of Tenuta Tor de’ Sordi, where architectural elegance seamlessly blended with the authenticity of the Roman landscape.

The Intimacy of the Wait: Preparations at Home

For their preparations, both chose the warmth and tranquility of their family homes. It was within these familiar spaces that I was able to document the most authentic moments: Alessio’s emotional anticipation among lifelong friends and Chiara’s refined bridal dressing. Shooting in private residences allows for an intimate light to be woven into the photographic narrative, creating a perfect prelude to the solemnity of the ceremony.

The Solemnity of the Aventine Hill: The Basilica of Bonifacio and Alessio

The “I do” was whispered in one of the capital’s most prestigious settings: the Basilica of Saints Bonifacio and Alessio. Located on the Aventine Hill, this church offers an atmosphere of rare beauty, with its medieval cloister and a nave that exudes old-world charm. The light filtering through the columns accompanied an intense ceremony, surrounded by Rome’s millennial history.

The Reception: An “Al Fresco” Dinner at Tenuta Tor de’ Sordi

From the austere beauty of the city center, we moved toward the countryside, arriving at Tenuta Tor de’ Sordi. Here, the event changed pace, transforming into a vibrant and chic celebration. The focal point was the grand outdoor dinner: a long, convivial banquet immersed in greenery, where candlelight and the silhouette of the estate created a magical atmosphere. This is the charm of an “en plein air” reception, where luxury meets nature in a spontaneous embrace.

The Party: Pure Energy Under the Stars

After the cake cutting, the stillness of the estate gave way to a high-energy celebration. The structure, masterfully illuminated, became the stage for an evening filled with energy, dancing, and toasts. Documenting the joy of Alessio, Chiara, and their guests in this setting was a privilege—a dynamic conclusion to a wedding that captured every nuance of Roman beauty.
